Jim and Julie helped me get into a home when I had four other banks tell me I had to work on my credit and save 20% down in order to be a homeowner. They got me 100% financing! I didn’t have to wait to apply either! I never felt like I was lost, they held my hand the whole process. We closed before our contract date and was smooth- just as promised! I’ve never had someone treat me like family going through this- but that is really how they are! Real people that make you feel so comfortable throughout my loan process that was confusing to me at times but they both had a way of explaining things that made it so easy and clear. I wouldn’t consider anyone else to ever help me get a mortgage but Jim and Julie!

I highly recommend Hennessey Home Lending for your mortgage needs, especially for VA loans. Jim and Julie are a power team that truly works for their clients. They kept me informed and answered all of my questions. They had the bulk of the underwriting completed before I signed the final contract on June 09, which allowed me to close on June 24. All parties (agents,seller) myself included was surprised to have the deal completed in less than 30 days. After the sale they have continued to check in with me to see how everything is going with my new home. They are a great asset to have in Pell City for homebuyers especially veterans utilizing their VA benefits.

I've never had better customer service at ANY business, much less with a lender, than I had with Hennessey Home Lending. Jim and Julie are experts in their field, they provide constant and transparent communication, and they walked us through every step of buying our home. Jim helped us negotiate with the seller, draft and proofread contracts, and had us closed in 12 days without a realtor. These people don't mess around. They've been in the business for 36 years and it shows. I'll be doing ALL future loans through Jim and Julie.

We just had the worst experience with Jim and his company. We were the listing agent and the buyer was preapproved through Hennessy. Not only did they extend the deal two or three times, but two days before closing apparently “the underwriters are not approving the buyer“. When I spoke to Jim about it, there is no remorse. No apologies. He was rude, short, and showed no care for the situation, as if it doesn’t impact all the other parties in the transaction. If you’re an agent, or even just a borrower, I would find someone else to use. One that could actually get the deal closed, or at least tell you the truth that you’re not going to be approved so that you’re not waiting two months. There are a ton of other great lenders out there. Stay clear.
