I became a mortgage broker to cut out all the bloat and high fees that many retail mortgage lenders and banks charge. Typically my lender costs are 1/3 to 1/2 that of a typical mortgage lender.
I keep things to the bare minimum. Usually it’s as easy as paystubs, w2s, and bank statements (or tax returns if you are self-employed).
