I encourage it! It's never too early to get preapproved if you're working with the right broker. Getting comfortable with the numbers & establishing relationships are critical to your success.
However it's convenient for the client. We do a lot of phone and zoom consultations, but if you're in the area, we love to sit down and go over information face to face.
I am firm believer in using a soft inquiry to quote rates. It allows us to get a glimpse at the client's credit profile without resulting in a hard inquiry. Best of both worlds.
